Summary

Amends the

Broadcasting Services Act 1992
to: impose obligations on digital communications platform providers in relation to the dissemination of content on a digital communications platform that contains information that is reasonably verifiable as false, misleading or deceptive, and is reasonably likely to cause or contribute to serious harm of a specified type (misinformation and disinformation); expand the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s compliance and enforcement powers in relation to misinformation and disinformation; and make consequential amendments. Also makes consequential amendments to 3 other Acts; and amends the
Broadcasting Services Act 1992
to make an amendment contingent on the commencement of the
Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024
